Welcome to Larne RFC and the girls’ section. Larne RFC is delighted to have your daughter here on our pitches, learning new skills, making new friends and enjoying rugby!

Our long-term aim for our Larne Valkyries is to have a full stand-alone team for our youth girls and at least 10 girls each for U8s to U12s, this enables us to be one team at tournaments. Although we recognise our catchment area for gaining new girls is very limited compared to other clubs, we are pleased to see the numbers increasing. We do encourage the girls to bring a friend and share news about our Give It a Try Programme.

To get the best opportunities for our girls, it is through matches, events and pitch time. This is why WE NEED YOU the parents and girls to commit to training and matches, so we can field as many girls as possible, to get our Larne shirts on and show what we can achieve. We’re proud that, over the past few years, Larne has become recognised as a club that is focused on girls’ rugby and hosts girls’ matches/tournaments.

A great highlight for our section, was that two of our past players Ruby and Cara, both achieved a place on the U18 Ireland Six Nations Squads, and U16 and U18 Ulster Squads. Both girls have now moved to QUB playing Senior Women’s Rugby and have also been selected for the Ulster Senior Women’s Squad!!! Amazing achievement for these super talented girls.
