Despite being 1 man down, Rainey come away with a good win over Larne 3rds.
With the wind behind their backs, Rainey kept Larne inside their own half, with Larne only able to clear their lines time and time again.
It wasn't long before Rainey got points on the board and went 0-7 up after good scrum pressure allowed the scrum half to score.
Larne hit back through the forwards and their pick and drive game got them over the whitewash with Jonathan McCullough scoring. The conversion from Aaron Carter leveled up the scoreline.
Again, the determined visitors brought the game back into Larne's half and took the lead once more through another try before half time.
Rainey scored again just minutes into the second half, before Aaron Carter finished off a well worked backline move, taking the ball on a good line to score under the posts.
An injury to Michael Boston saw Stephen Johnston take to the field and with his first touch of the ball, led by example and charged through the Rainey defence to score left of the posts. Conversion missed.
Rainey fought back the momentum of Larne and rallied with another try.
Larne's ill discipline cost them and 2 late penalties saw Rainey edge out the home side.
